About Me
My name is Lauren Bass, and I am an artist, filmmaker, Environmental Studies student, and French speaker from the Kansas City, Kansas metro area. Currently, I'm getting my Undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Film & Media Studies and Environmental Studies at the University of Kansas and a Minor in French. My passion for art started art during my early childhood, drawing cartoons and tv show characters and slowly developing into more realistic drawings, anime and comic book style in middle school, and experimenting with different medias from ceramics, oils, charcoal, acrylics, oil pastels, and mixed media in a multitude of classes, culminating into AP Studio Art my Junior and Senior years. Art has always helped me develop my filmmaking skills as well, through my high school's video broadcasting team, KSMS. I graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 2018 and am currently at KU for Film and Environmental Studies, but am continuing to further my art ability for my own pleasure and to increase my creative skills. My goal is to become a filmmaker, possibly with a focus in cinematography and/or environmental conservation, while furthering my artistic skills. I invite you to look at some of my artwork ranging from mainly my freshman year of high school to freshman year of college, and my journey to hone my artistic skills and improve my technical and emotional work.
